fresh off the plane from the states, for a late lunch. Decor is a rustic hunting theme with lots of dark, carved wood. We found the vibe quite relaxing, yet cheerful. My mussels were sweet and tender...and plentiful! My husband's beef and Guinness stew was amazing. And, of course, the Guinness and Smithwicks were refreshing. The service was excellent. We truly felt like we were back in Ireland! Show less

Looking through the reviews here, I note that nearly all are from tourists - which is the way Dublin has gone in recent years, but hardly the best way to make a proper assessment of a Dublin pub. As a local who has been drinking here for many, many years (not continuously, obviously), I can say that this is one of the great Dublin pubs. Wonder why it took me so long to say this? Probably because Google Maps didn't exist in the earlier part of my life

Its nice to be there because the barkeepers are friendly and deliver your drinks fast. The bar looks nice to and its in the heart of the city. The prices are good for the area. So far one of the best places to be in dublin but you have to know there are many people ;)

A unspoiled ‘Victorian’ era bar and snug. Just off Dame Street, close to Trinity college, Grafton Street shopping quarter and the green LUAS line it is well worth the visit. They serve a great pint of porter, enjoy😋

This place was awesome! Went to the second floor and the windows were open. People hucking outside with great music. Able to sit and enjoy the sounds and views of Dublin. Staff was great.
