1600 N Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60613, USA
While in Chicago for the weekend, we rented Divvy Bikes and rode them along the North Ave Beach shore on the trail right along the bike path adjacent to the water for about 2 hours! It was super hot out, but it was fabulous!!! We had so much fun while riding, watching everyone on the beach playing volleyball and running with their dogs in the sand....sitting and enjoying the sun and playing in the water, even if it was probably cold. It is a busy place along the beach! So nice that they have this for people to enjoy! And it seemed to be kept pretty clean as well, which is always nice. There are water fountains every so often along the trail to grab a drink of water and the paths are clearly marked for either walking or biking.
of course NAV beach doesn't require any introduction. Most famous spot in the summers to chill on the beach side. Few important things are: parking in almost full so plan ahead There is a photography point (a small train on the east most side of the beach) Sunrise are really really worth it, must go there in the summers. Lot of sports rentals, volleyball nets, jet skis etc. restroom facility is pretty decent and there is a shack restaurant too. Chicago city views are the best from here head to the east side for some mesmerizing views of sky scrappers and 360 Chicago Enjoy!!
North Ave is the place to be! It’s a huge beach and a great place to have a beach day with a large group. My favorite beach in Chicago. The restaurant, Castaways, is right there too and it gives to a nice view of the lake on their roof. Great beach to bring your family or friends. Expect a large crowd on weekends, however.
North Avenue Beach is very clean and comfortable for everyone. It has trails for passengers and cyclists 🚴♀️, public restrooms and rentals. Water 💧 is so clear and has an amazing color! It’s very relaxing just to walk there! I’m visiting Chicago only for 4 days but I was so impressed by this beach that I came twice to enjoy it!
This beach is beautifully kept. It was chilly while I was there, so I did little swimming. However, the view of Chicago is beautiful. The paths, restaurants, and shops make this a fun place to spend time. The pier extends out into the water and is a great walk and an even better place to relax and enjoy the water and the skyline.
