Been here about 3 or 4 times...mostly to see if ANYTHING has changed from last visit. Tranquil...yes! Quiet...for most part yes. Depends upon visitors. Much to see...uh...absolutely not! Short/quick tour. Nice, well kept, but not much too wander through and see.

Visited the San Francisco, Japanese Tea Garden, located in Golden Gate Park this weekend and it was a wonderful experience. The Japanese Tea Garden, is the oldest public Japanese garden in the United States. Luckily, despite COVID, the Japanese Tea Garden is open daily. There is an entrance fee, but, it’s nominal for San Francisco residents and a bit more expensive for non-city residents. As a San Francisco resident I paid $7.00. There was a friend with me who lived in California but not San Francisco and they paid $10.00. Unlike most Japanese Tea Gardens that are free of cost, as the oldest in the United States, it costs to maintain the premise, Japanese structures, grounds, and the small eatery located on the inside of the tea garden. Once you’re inside, there is a self guided tour that you take around the tea garden, following the posted signs. It’s incredibly beautiful and calming. My words won’t do it justice, so please take some time to look at the pictures posted. I highly recommend the tea garden. It’s good for casual strolls, dates, or family outings.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Such a beautiful spot in the middle of the city to relax and clear your mind. I was definitely a tourist visiting but I loved it. I am not a tea lover or even really like it but the tea we ordered was really good. Such a nice cultural experience.

Very peaceful and beautiful garden for a morning stroll. Currently, the garden is free of charge 9-10 am on Fridays (and I believe Wednesdays?). I went on a nice morning walk during the free hour and stopped by the cute little stand in the garden for some Jasmine tea and delicious miso soup. The garden is fairly small, but very beautifully designed. (And the botanical garden is right next door if you are looking for more extensive walking before/after)

Serenity and piece are the 2 common things one might experience here. Parking might be a challenge during weekends.
