We ate here on july 26. We had the best breakfast. The French Toast was delicious. My fiancee said the biscuits, grits & eggs hit the spot. Our friends ate the pecan, banana French toast that they thought were divine. They order smoked sausage but it was more like a kielbasa sausage. No complaints. Our server Olly was as sweet as can be. Very busy place but they are fast.
Definitely recommended for breakfast. Portions are large. service is prompt. hot chocolate is delish (very important for me) and waffles are light. Go! :-)
They also make a very good matzoh ball soup, with light matzoh balls and tasty chicken broth.
This long-time café in Heritage Bikes and Coffee got some fame through the book and movie "Midnight in the Garden of Evil." It's your classic lunch-counter style café, with simple, good cooking.
We enjoyed our shrimp salad and pimiento cheese sandwiches.
