The site is really nice and the accommodation is great. It's more or less central to most of the attractions around here (like Lands End). It also has a good but limited restaurant on site (not much in the way of veg on the menu) and a clubhouse with live entertainment and bingo. This is our place.

Just having a week here after holidays at parks resorts and what a difference there is. Over the years the quality of Parks sites has deteriorated but John Fowler shows what a holiday park should be like. Clean, friendly and safe. We felt that the entertainers were brilliant and the accomodation was much better overall. Most caravan sites now focus more on selling caravans but with John Fowler that's not an option so the focus is on the holiday makers having a good time.

Booked in as a party of 9. Arrived to discover although it slept 9 it was a squeeze. Only 5 seats in living room, only 8 could fit round the dining table. Kitchen that small could only get in 1 at a time. The living room sofas and chair were broken and dirty. The carpets throughout were also dirty. There was mould on the windows and in both bathrooms. Went and complained to the guy on reception and he basically said that it was how they were built in the 80's. It was a privately owned property but as it was a silver package you would think John Fowler would have set standards as its their name being tarnished. We came with another group of 3 who had a bronze package and their property was lovely so know that they can be nice and feel very let down. The downstairs bedroom was damp and smelt musty, 2 of our party that were in that room have been bitten by something which we put down to something in that room as no one else did. No where to dry swimwear etc. The house keepers removed a broken clothes rack and said maintenance were fitting outside retractable washing lines and that if we were lucky we'd get one before we left. We weren't lucky!!!! The site it's self is good. Great base to get out and about. The laundrette was a godsend especially the dryers. Staff in shop were lovely. The kids loved the park although the soft play and games room are a little dated.

We have just had a seven night stay in a bronze bungalow (TT25) at Tolroy Manor. First impressions were the area in which the bungalows and chalets are located that we stayed in are nicely maintained and very clean. It’s lovely to see bird feeders and boxes dotted around the place to encourage birds. However, the signs do say not to feed the seagulls, and the lady across from us fed them daily, so we always had seagulls round us. The bungalow we stayed in had two bedrooms (one double and two singles) with a nice sized wardrobe in each. The wardrobe as silly as it sounds has a curtain over it rather than a door but is fine, it’s a place to store clothes at the end of the day. Bedside tables and a chest of drawers in the bedrooms too. The mattress on the double bed was very comfortable but the pillows were a bit flatter than I’d like. We didn’t use the single beds in the other bedroom as there was only the two of us, but they looked comfortable and there was space to put our bags underneath the bed, so used it as a storage room. The main living area consisted of a double sofa bed and a two-man sofa. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and was broken (the cover on the front hiding the bed was falling off). The sofas themselves are a little old, so the cushions on them were not comfortable, so we ended up using four cushions to sit on as it made it nicer to sit on. Handy little coffee table with a fruit bowl is a nice touch. Dining table had four chairs and two stools, perfect for us but also plenty of room for you if you have a bigger family. Kitchen was small but has an electric cooker, microwave, kettle and fridge. I will note that you won’t be able to fit much in the freezer, it is tiny. We managed to fit a pack of bacon, a pack of sausages and a bag of frozen veg and that was a bit of a squeeze. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils much to my surprise as I imagined myself going and buying some! Bathroom was nice, small shower but was still nice and warm but nevertheless, the bathroom is in nice condition. There is an extractor fan in the bathroom that needs to be left on constantly, and the extractor exhaust runs through the bedroom, so you can hear the faint noise of it running at night (not enough to keep you awake). Pool was small but nice, usually I went at about 10 (opening time) and it was empty so I had the pool to myself. We didn’t go to see the entertainment as I got the feeling it was mainly aimed at families with little ones, but is not a criticism! All in all, as we had a bronze bungalow we knew that it would be slightly outdated. If you would prefer something more modern, then I would suggest paying the extra and upgrading. I wasn’t too impressed with the way it had been cleaned however; it smelt musty (more damp than anything) for the whole week, there were cobwebs all over the shop, and to top it off, in the spare bedroom someone had left a chocolate biscuit under the bed, which makes me wonder whether it had been cleaned before we arrived. None of our towels or swimming costumes/shorts dried so we constantly had wet towels, and our clothes STANK of damp. This is why I’ve only put three stars; I wasn’t impressed with the way the bungalow was presented.
