Definitely worth a visit for South Africans and tourists alike. I have been living in Johannesburg all my life and never knew about Constitution Hill. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it definitely was more than I could have imagined. We had an amazing tour guide and hearing about the history was quite emotional and humbling. I would definitely return.

Outstanding museum. History well documented. Tour guide informed and overall customer service was excellent. Highly recommended for all South Africans to be tourists in our cultural rich country..

Visit Play Africa here if you have a small child. We also had some fun walking the ramparts and soaking up some history. It's quite well maintained, but it's a pity there isn't somewhere nice to eat.

Take the guided tour! Our guide was very passionate about describing the prison as well as the new court system. The tour of the prison was very intense. The guide did not try to make it easy - and she shouldn't have! She did a fantastic job.

I have been staying close to Constitution Hill for the past 11 years but I was not aware of the history it holds... actually I was but I had not imagined the depth of what is in there.....I had the best tour guide however I forgot his name....The information behind those walls is emotional and powerful. The highest court of South Africa is there which is the Constitutional Court.... Listening to how the building was built, every piece has a meaning...let me not give too much info....please go there and you will come back full of knowledge of our history...
