This little gem was incredible. Our last night in San Casciano di Bagni we came across La Fontanella which is just a 5 min walk from Fonteverde Spa Resort. The restaurant is in a cute boutique hotel that has 10 rooms and I would love to experience a stay in this nice hotel in the future. We were seated outdoors as requested and ordered the grilled pecorini cheese which is an incredible Italian cheese that came with fresh pear and pear jam. To die for. For mains we had the papardelle, homemade pasta of course, with local pork ragú and the gnocchi with tomato sauce and burrata. I truly believe it's the best pastas ive had during my week in Italy after being in both Positano and Florence prior to San Casciano. For dessert we had the fried local fruits and we had a white chardonnay from Antinori winery. It is a must to visit this restaurant if you are in San Casciano di Bagni.

Loved it - I stayed here with my wife as well as another couple, and we all absolutely loved this hotel, AND the town of San Casciano Dei Bagni. The rooms were beautiful and luxurious, so so comfortable and they both had balconies with brilliant views. The bathroom was large and the shower was easy to use and put out plenty of water. The staff were very pleasant, and there is a lift to help you get your bags upstairs if you have heavy bags (like we did!). Also has good fast wi-fi. We ate at the restaurant based on other people’s advice in internet reviews and were VERY glad that we did. It was probably one of the best meals we had in Italy. To give you an idea, the restaurant was fully booked but we were the only people who were also staying at the hotel! It’s a major drawcard. I can’ speak highly enough of this place, I hope to go back another time and spend longer here (than the 1 night we stayed) to further explore the area and sample more off their delicious restaurant menu.
