Sandvík, Iceland
So the road to Sandvik is basically a dirt path through the lava rock fields with rocks and bumps all along the way. I would recommend 4WD and off-road equipment and common sense. We went in March with snow on the ground so maybe June or July would be better. Once there, the beach is beautiful black sand with rock cliffs off to the side which are amazing. The waves are nice but as with most southern beaches in Iceland, they travel much farther than you would think. Give them space and you will have an amazing time.
Bumpy road to get there but beautiful beach with black dunes
