Amazing collection and unique place! Petra dedicated her life to searching and finding stones. I'm glad we stopped by. When we went the cafe wasn't open that day so we weren't able to try it. But it is an option when stopping here too!
Quite a strange place but worth a stop if you’re in the area. Basically just a crazy amount of stones piled up around the garden and inside the house, plus a bunch of other things that were collected by Petra. It’s a nice break from the road and the garden is quite pleasant, but there isn’t much information available about the stones or how they were formed etc.
Petra collected so many amazing rocks over her lifetime. Her children run the museum now, and it serves as a beautiful memorial to their mother and her life's work. The garden outside also has tons of large, impressive rocks and the landscaping is very well done. There is also a cafe and several sitting areas throughout the garden. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something special and unique.
I didn't expect much from this, and thought my partner would be more interested than I was. Turned out to be a really pleasant and wholesome museum. Well worth a visit.
An impulse stop. Unexpectedly fascinating. A story/collection of a passionate women who dedicated her life on collecting local rocks. The rocks collection are very impressive but her story is the reason to stop by. P.S. there are many dragon glass. I bought a small piece as souvenir. (It’s what I can afford).
