We were told verbally that there was a kitchenette and there was none. This, and other pages for this hotel say there is free breakfast - there is not. Also, the heat wasn't working - an important thing to have working in Iceland. I strongly recommend against staying, or at the very least, don't believe what Google or any other site says about the place - you will be disappointed.

What a pleasant surprise. The last place we stayed the night before leaving Iceland was next to a power station, with nothing but lava fields around. Hotel Vogar has very pleasant rooms with a number of restaurants within walking distance, walks down to the coast and a number of interesting places to visit on its doorstep. Excellent breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful staff. I think on our next visit we may stay a couple of days during the holiday rather than just use it as a way station

A bit misleading. This is more like a motel and we were not notified about shared bathrooms. It's a bit like a hostel because the 2 restrooms where we were are shared for about 5 rooms. I wish I knew clearly when booking that the "hotel" is a shared bathroom "hotel". It is also pretty old and doesn't have easy access to restaurants after 9pm. Walls are really thin and can hear everything and everyone. Was clean.

Hotel is fine. Reasonable breakfast. But the restaurant across the road is excellent.. but it closes at 9.

Needed a place quick that was close to the airport and this fit the bill. Friendly gentleman in the lobby. A little outdated but it had working electrify, heat, and a hot shower. Close to town for shopping and restaurants and to the Gardur lighthouse. If you just need a place to sleep for the nice, this is great.
