Appreciate the true beauty of glaciers during this helicopter ride. This tour will journey into some of the most beautiful glacial points in Iceland; Skaftafellsjökull, Mount Hrútsfjall, Svínafellsjökull, Virkisjökull, Öræfajökull, and lots more.
Our first destination is our namesake Skaftafellsjökull glacier, taking us into a narrow valley full of vivid colors before we climb up the steep glacier edge to Mount Hrútsfjall (1800m). Don‘t worry, it‘s the helicopter which will be doing the climbing. Next up is Svínafellsjökull glacier, which looks so out of this world that it was fittingly used as the shooting location for an alien ice planet in the 2014 blockbuster "Interstellar". We continue gliding, freely observing Virkisjökull, Falljökull, Kotárjökull and Öræfajökull with a bird‘s eye view (yes, "jökull“ means "glacier“ in case you hadn't figured that out yet), before landing at Kvíárjökull.
Here you‘ll get the chance to walk around and get some closeup snapshots of the glacial ice as well as full panoramic photos of the astonishing sceneries reaching over the surrounding glacier valleys.
We take off again, and do a lower altitude flight over cliffs, canyons and waterfalls on our way back to base to round out a truly breathtaking tour.
