I think in normal circumstances it would have been much better. We were on a 2 hour wait, on top of them being very short staffed. The staff were very understanding, professional and friendly regardless of how stretched thin they were. One of the staff members gave my youngest a free toy and candy which I thought was very sweet. The food was good, I have had better from Joe's and I'm not talking about around this location but closer to Indiana. I am just going to assume they were short on cooks as well. I don't blame the staff, they can't make people work or not call in. I saw them really hustle and still took time to check on us and refill drinks. I've had worse service and attitudes with a less demanding crowd and plenty of staff. They really showed a sense of professionalism regardless of how stressed they must have been. I give it 3 because it was expensive, obviously 2 hours is a long time, due to staffing issues I believe our food could have been better. Other than that they had stellar attitudes and that speaks volumes and does not mean I would not come back again sometime. Thank you for your hard work all you ladies need a raise!

They were very understaffed! But the manager did a great job handling the door. Only sat half the restaurant to make sure the staff could give the service they needed. Food was great and came out super fast. The bartenders, who waited on us at a table, were fabulous!

They were very short staffed. Understandable in today's times. But even then it took us over an hour to get a table, 1/2 hour to get drinks, then another hour to get our food. When we got it my MR steak was well done and way over seasoned. My wife's seafood was appetizing but hardly anything special. At $50 plus per person to eat this was a horrible meal. The bright spot and thus a few stars was our very pleasant server (Nas).

My boyfriend and I came to Joe’s Crab Shack for dinner tonight and service was exceptional. The wait wasn’t too bad, the hostess was nice, the food was great, and our server Timothy was amazing. He checked on us several times throughout our meal, had a great personality, and was great with any kids that were in the restaurant. I definitely recommend you stop by if you’re in Destin looking for great food and service.

Half the place was empty when we arrived and when we left as well. We still had a "45 minute wait." After waiting for 30 minutes and reading more recent reviews of this location, we decided to leave and go to the Crab Trap on the water front. No chain restaurant in a prime vacation destination should make you wait that long with 70%+ of the seating open and available. Read the other reviews on here please.
