It's an okay scenic viewing park. There is a boat ramp but the access is blocked off. The sand volleyball area is missing its net. There is a pier that extends over the clear waters, a nice walking path with benches, picnic tables, and a pavilion. The driveway is gravel and sea shells and I did not see any playground for kids. Also I don't believe they're fishing off the pier but there is probably no fish in that water. In that bay is a sandbar where a lot of boats congregate in the middle. People can literally walk out from their boats in the middle of that water to a floating bar.
The park is great, if that's what you're looking for. It's quiet. There are places to relax. And the water is calm, but it's not the beach. If you're looking for waves and excitement, look elsewhere. Otherwise, it's a fantastic family spot!
The parks not finished yet but it's going to be nice when they're done and it comes right down onto the docks of Destin. There are benches there where we sit each night and play music for the passers-by. I have been out there learning how to play a baritone ukulele in front of a crowd. Nothing better than great feedback from people that are going to be honest and getting lots of support and inspiration continue with music. Soon I will start posting videos to Google maps of the places I go play music so I can get responses from people that visit. Look for me on Google Maps and follow my profile if you're interested! Yeah we're now we may even cross each other's path one day. Hope to see you soon! If not look me up Smoke on the Water restaurant Destin
Bathrooms need improvement. They are stinky, lock on stall missing, toilet tank cover missing, run down look not kept up with. The beach is small but good placed bouys, a few picnic tables with plenty of shade in the park. Great view of the bay. Kind of quiet and secluded from tourists.
Beautiful park, definitely needs an overhaul but we love it here and are so glad the beach is open again.
