Beautiful cathedral with great murals, stained glass windows and very artistic ceilings. It's very quiet and peaceful. You can really feel the spirituality of the place. The history of the cathedral has been pictorially displayed in great detail and is worth a read. Being adjacent to the Royal Palace makes it an added attraction.
We came across the Cathedral while on a city tour. We decided to take some time touring it and enjoyed every minute. The interior with all its works of art so typical of Spanish churches is spectacular. The exterior superb and the views breath-taking. Another gem in the beautiful city of Madrid. Really worth visiting.
I've seen a lot of big cathedrals in Europe and South America. This one was quirky enough to be somewhat interesting. Weird stained glass and some nice side chapels. Took off one star because it was hard to figure out how to get in (through a side door not the front doors).
For a bit of peace and serenity in Madrid, head to this Cathedral. The gothic architecture is simply stunning!! Worth a visit! However, I think the electric candles need to go in favour of the traditional flames.
Beautiful and modern cathedral. It's Chapel of the Holy Communion is a peaceful and beautiful place. A must seen in Madrid. Be respectful of the cults. It's a church.
