I had heard good things about this experience, but I wasn't the biggest fan after going myself. There were literally hundreds of tourists packed into a fairly small area among some rocks on the creek, being herded into and out of different pools of muddy hot water at timed intervals by pushy "tourist-herder" employees. I didn't see any locals participating in this, only tourists. In addition, like other places with lots of tourists, there is a mob of street vendors following you around and yelling at you. There is a bathroom shack with a few toilets, but no running water in the sinks or the toilets, and there was a line of tourists waiting to use them all (and clearly a long line who had already used them too). The heat of around 90 degrees made all this come together as feeling something like a sewage spill to me. The views from up there were fantastic, as they are in most places in St Lucia. One interesting thing was seeing the smoke/steam come up from the volcano hole in the ground. That is a separate tour, and if I had it to do over, I'd probably take that tour over the mud bath. I got yelled at for going too close to it without paying to see it (again the pushy tourist-herders were overwhelming). I was told later by somebody who had been a few times that there were 2 cruise ships in dock at the time I went, and that's how it gets when the cruise ships are there. They also mentioned that the next day there were no cruise ships, and as a result there were very few people at the sulpher springs. So if you want the mud bath experience, my advice would be to only visit when there are no cruise ships in port, and go on a cooler day. And hopefully, they will have fixed the bathrooms by then.

Had a great time with the hot spring volcanic mud bath which was part of our tour (Joe Knows Tours). There is a restroom and area to leave your bags / change, then its a quick couple of minutes to the mud baths. We felt really refreshed and the skin felt very smooth after this. A unique experience. Yes, it smells a little but not too bad.

Fun and interesting. Definitely worth a visit. You can do just the "drive-through volcano" which gets you up close to the bubbling and steaming pools with a guide or you can do the mud baths or you can do both for EC$37.50 per person. The mud really makes your skin feel smooth. There are simple changing rooms and showers. Best to go early or later in the day and avoid the crowds.

Some people do enjoy it. Wear dark bathing suits. It's a tourist trap with vendors wanting you to checkout their stores. But my family had fun while there.

We loved it here. There were locals everywhere which is usually a good sign. Once done with the springs your skin feels baby soft. Would recommend!
