Experience the Hardangerfjord and Private Blue Ice Hiking on Folgefonna Glacier, the collective term for three plateau glaciers in Hardanger. The tour goes from June 1 to September 30.
This private tour takes you from Bergen to Hardanger and the glacier of Folgefonna. We start in Bergen in the morning, pick up at your hotel 8.00 am, driving 1,5 hour to Tørvikbygd and crossing the Hardangerfjord by ferry to Jondal. From Jondal we drive up to the glacier 1200 meters above sea level. Here we will be welcomed by the private guide from Folgefonni Breførerlag who will inform about everything needed to know and how to put on the necessary gear.
During the walk on the Folgefonna glacier you will experience huge flat areas of ice, but also go into crevasse areas and do some climbing if you like. The hike will be adjusted to the wishes of the participants. For some it will be climbing and adrenalin, for some it will be a quiet walk into a different world. During the day you will learn about the cultural and natural history of the glacier. The hiking on the glacier will last for about 3-4 hours, but will be as long as you wish. Remember warm clothes, if you dont have mountain boots or wind/waterproof clothing and need to borrow please let us know.
