It’s maybe most famous for its delicious cuisine, which varies by region from seafood to pasta and pizza. The world has long been fascinated by Italian culture and the family structure and dynamic that is oh-so important. Every corner of the country is filled with opportunity to learn about the country’s culture and past. Afterall, it was home to one of the world’s most important ancient civilizations.

Your beach vacation can quickly turn into camping in the Italian Alps.

Italy is one of those countries you can visit time and time again and still find places to discover. Rome is an obligation, plus most international flights arrive here anyway. The Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are two of the most iconic landmarks in the capital. Venice is an especially fascinating city for its lack of roads and cars. Enjoy the pedestrian-friendly alleys and hop in a gondola for a picture-perfect Venetian moment. Florence is the capital of Tuscany and a city full of art masterpieces and exquisite architecture. Take advantage of the proximity to wine country and do a horseback riding tour through the vineyards. Just a short drive from the supposed birthplace of pizza is the Amalfi Coast. With its stunning cliffside villas and quaint restaurants, it’s an Italian vacation essential.

What is the best time of year to visit Iceland?

The Amalfi Coast is best enjoyed during the summer, but going right before or after the peak season (July and August) will result in fewer crowds and better prices. Spring and autumn are fantastic seasons to explore the entire country from the coast to Lake Como in the north. Winter is best for exploring the cities since crowds will be at a minimum and even if the weather is chilly, there are still plenty of indoor activities. If you like the snow, head to the Italian Alps for some epic skiing and winter fun.
