We did an ice cave tour with "glacier adventures" (the longer tour, 5 to 6 hours). They'll show you some ice caves and bring you on a hike on top of the glacier. However, ice caves are not possible to visit in summer time though

Beautiful place but be careful with parking. Wife and I had trouble getting vending machine to accept credit card, tried another and it went through successfully....only to be chased like the paper boy from Better off Dead for $6. We paid it, I was there, they just can't find it and I don't have time to argue about it. Overall Iceland doesn't live up to the brochures unfortunately, with the exception of a few highs, it just won't get us again in the near future.

Very windy day. And you'll need to be very careful getting to a good view of the glaciers. Hiking trails are good and well marked.

WOW! Great trip and experience! We loved it very much!! Ice explorer are the best! The driver and Monica the guide were just great. Lots of knowledge.. helps take great pictures.. such a treat! Must go!!

One of the best hiking experiences I’ve ever had as the reward at the top is incredible. The addition of feeling secluded and remote while taking in the views of gigantic glaciers and mountains. The trail and facilities are in phenomenal condition, allowing you to focus on the surrounding nature effortlessly.
