My wife and I had a wonderful time at Snaps. The food and atmosphere were both great. For our Friday night, we were looking for for an upscale restaurant catering to locals and we found it. We arrived around 9 PM with no reservation. We had a cocktail in the downstairs Jazz Bar while waiting a short time for a table. The hostess set us up in 2 corner seats on the upstairs bar in the main dining room;. Perfect location. We had wonderful conversations with several locals over our 3-hour stay. The food was outstanding. The Duck Breast was perfectly cooked and delicious and the French Fries are AMAZING. The bar and wait staff were attentive and accommodating. The music and atmosphere where OUTSTANDING - maybe as good or better than we have ever experienced. It's clear that it's a place the locals love and cherish. We are thankful to them all for sharing their good times with us
They have a bunch of off the wall craft beers that appeal to beer drinkers of every kind. Thoroughly enjoyed being here and tasting all of the collaboration beers.
We had the best meal here of all nine days in Reykjavik. Fresh sturgeon in light broth was beautiful, but every one’s favorite was the Seared Arctic Char over purée sweet potato and mustard sauce. All was delicious. Would go back again and again.
The hostess was quite rude. I was told this was a great place to have dinner but when I entered, I was brusquely asked "Who are you?" Well... I told her I'd like a table for one or I'd sit at the bar. Her response was "You go downstairs and drink for 45 minutes to an hour and MAYBE I come get you"! And out the door I went. DON'T BOTHER. Plenty of much nicer places in Reykjavik with happy people with great food. Try Rock instead up the street and down a bit.
Amazing! The French onion soup was a fabulous start followed my the fish of the day. The bread was delicious! Reasonably priced for incredible food!
