Fláajökull, Iceland
The Glacier seems beautiful but the bridge is broken so you can’t reach it.
Very cool place, but bridge is gone, visited March 2018.
Nice glacier with two lobes. Yes, the footbridge was still gone (September 2018), but it is still possible to drive to the end of the road (where the small car park is) and than walk toward glacial lake and see some of the spectacular geomorphology related to south-eastern lobe. North-western lobe (smaller) can be also easily visited - you have to take a road to Heinabergjokull, then take a side road to small waterfall, where there is a parking. From there, the walk to the ice margin is about 30 min. There are some marked trails as well.
Nice place but the bridge is broken so don't bother going there since you cannot approche the glacier and there are other glacier you approche around this place. If the brigde gers build again I would highly recommand the place. We were there on May 31 2018.
Great place to visit
