A great place to see as it is one of the oldest palaces in Greece, here on Crete. It was discovered and restored in a quite exciting way - one guy needed to buy out the area and self finance the explorations. He also felt quite devoted to add/ ‘restore’ some parts himself what actually does not always coincide with the initial look and feel of the area. It is impressive that people almost 4000 years ago were capable to create multi-stores buildings, running water, heating and other perks. Quite spacious territory. I would appreciate reading some facts near the artifacts but there is mainly information on the stages of excavation work. Probably, to provide work to numerous guides at the entrance :) well, Greeks seem quite original in their way of earning money. If everybody paid taxes in this country, they definitely wouldn’t have a crisis! The guides by the way are quite exciting to listen to. They share interesting facts and keep your attention.

Knossos is an amazing archeological treasure that preserves the ancient Minoan civilization, the first advanced civilization in Europe. As you walk through the incredibly well preserved ruins you can imagine the Minotaurs roaming the labyrinths! If you plan a visit to the island of Crete I recommend this as a must-see. Greece is both mythical and magical. It’s anything and everything you could ever imagine it to be. A bucket list destination for sure.

We went with my family and it is definitely worth a visit. I found that even though I could not enjoy the full experience (heat and my age) there were still lots of places from which I could view the ruins in the shade while the rest of the family explored. Impressive

This review is only about Entry of Knossos Palace, not Knossos Palace itself! So, here you can pay by card, as of autumn 2019 ticket would cost you 15€ for adult and free for children under 18, they also have discounts for students, but they don't accept the ISIC cards! They ask for original student ID. About facilities - they have free toilet on the left of the entrance, nice small Cafe and souvenir shop.

Definitely very famous place to visit in Crete but I would not go again there. Even when the entry fee was quite high, there was not much to see. If you want to go there I recommend to get up early, because the long queues are forming up during the mornings.
