Port Said, St، El-Darb El-Ahmar, Cairo Governorate 11638, Egypt
You will find a number of interesting artifacts and relics here. Photography is not allowed for all, and you will need a special pass to take photos. You can learn a lot about the Islamic arts, traditions, cultures, architecture, weapons, and other interesting information. The rooms are categorized like a journey from one era to another. Although it's a new museum it does have a rich collection and is well organized. Highly recommended.
It's been a pleasure to visit such place. The place is literally shinning from being this much clean but unfortunately no air conditioning around so visiting the museum on such hot days isn't recommended. We watched the different Islamic eras and we had so much fun, you would love to take a closer look on the arabisk work and the vases or even the roofs The ticket for Egyptian students is 5 LE And for Egyptians is 10 LE
This museum is a real jewel! While the flock of tourists line up at the door of the Egyptian museum, the museum of Islamic Art seems almost desert. It is a pity because this museum is well organized and offers a overview of the history of the dynasties that ruled North Africa and the middle East and of the development of art, science, and culture. The museum is just the right size: it is not overwhelming, but the pieces are all superb and have been carefully selected to illustrate with samples the history of a very rich culture. This exceptional little museum was a real discovery for me. Do not miss it if you are in Cairo.
Was wonderful place rich of Islamic history for past 800 years
A phenomenal museum that's a feast for the eyes of those who appreciates arts and authenticity. The fact that they arranged the artifacts according to different islamic eras enabled the spectators to see the progressive evolution of art and the effects of mingling with other civilizations as that of China, Persia and far eas. Highly , strongly recommend 👍👍👍
