I came to watch this from London: the icing on the cake for my trip to Vienna. Wonderful personal experience to be immersed with the sounds echoing across the hall perfectly in sync, so moving and captivating blissfully harmonised, one could almost imagine how it would have been before, felt so timeless. The hall is staggeringly enchanting. The opera was entertaining and to hear Strauss towards the end was just beautiful and memorable, something I will always cherish a reminder that music is for everyone universal and free truly sublime. The composer also invited the audience for little improvisation which was energetic. Unfortunately there were some disruptive elements. There was a large following of person(s) whom seemed only interested in getting a status pictures. They have employed one Asian lady whom appeared to be overwhelmed trying to control members was like a teacher with mischievous children at times. Also people turning up late, coughing and showing little regard for others. I guess a symptom of the age we live in. Didn't mind the relaxed dress code despite certain etiquette was expected, if only could somehow reduce interruptions it would simply be infallible experience. But it is the golden hall and will always be 5 stars no matter what! On that note, i must now get a bottle of wine and stare at the Danube to see if it really is blue. Thank you for an unforgettable time.

Had a great time, lovely hall, well organised. Staff helpful and efficient. Wonderful concert. Well balance between Mozart and Strauss. Orchestra, traditionally dressed played wonderfully. Tenor and soprano very talented. Not Inexpensive !! But worth it.

Great theater with classical atmosphere. We listened to a Mozart and Strauss concert and we really enjoyed it! I can suggest balcony as a good view with lower price

Spectacular venue with excellent, world class performances, as best as one could get. The only issue is the crowd: it is a highly sought after venue as expected but many of tourists seem to be there just to tick a box on their bucket list. There are MANY tourists there not even caring what is being played, lots of unnecessary movements and chatter, which is a bit sad given the history of this place. There is no particular dress code, except no shorts allowed, but again that is being pushed to the limit by some in the crowd.

Clearly the Musikverein is a world class concert hall, as well as being the home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The ambience is stunning and I can imagine it looking like this over 200 years ago, during the time of Mozart. There is much tourism which, in itself, shouldn't have much effect, but it does. Audience attire is supposed to be evening formal but many tourists showed up in shorts and flip-flops. The Vienna Philharmonic is still top-tier and I would recommend these concerts over some of the more tourist-centered groups. Many of the complaints seem to be surrounding these types of kitschy events.
