Stef:WHITEFISH - This is a fun and challenging hike with beautiful views of Whitefish below. At the summit you can see the town of Whitefish, Whitefish Lake, Glacier National Park, and the Flathead Valley. You can also visit the gift shop, bathrooms, and have a drink and snacks at the Summit House.

Avalanche Lake
Stef:GLACIER NP - This trail begins after Trail of the Cedars and is a beautiful hike to Avalanche Lake. Popular out-and-back trail. A good hike for a hot day as it is mostly shaded. Once at the lake, it’s a nice spot for photos, a dip in the lake, or lunch. There is a single toilet/outhouse near the lake.

Here are some of our favorite places to eat

Image - Buffalo Cafe
Buffalo Cafe
Stef:Everything here is delicious, but there's something special about breakfast at the Buffalo Cafe. Always order the special. Always. Best hash browns you'll ever have. Great service.
Image - Tupelo Grille
Tupelo Grille
Stef: Great place for dinner. The lounge is a more casual option where seating is first come first serve and you can enjoy live music. The dining room is perfect for a fancier option with a wider menu selection. I'd recommend the ahi tuna (appetizer), elk sliders, elk meatloaf, shrimp and grits, chicken and dumplings.

Happy hour and drink spots

Here are a few good spots to grab a bevy after a day of hiking.

Stef:Enjoy a drink and apps on the rooftop bar with views of Whitefish Mountain.

Stef:Great patio to relax and enjoy a brewski. Good beer selection and trivia on Wednesdays.

Stumptown Eatery & Wine Bar
Stef:This place is perfect for a wine, local beer, and some shared plates. Charcuterie is highly recommended. Great atmosphere with unique and fun ski themed decor and a disco ball.
