The painter Tintoretto lived nearby and his grave is in this church, as well as some of his paintings. Remarkable fact: in 1993 a painting by Bellini was stolen here. Villa Orange:6. On the Campo dei Mori you can see statues of four Moors in the facades of the houses. The word Moor comes from Morea, Ventian dialect for Peloponnese (Greece). The statues are of the Arabian brothers and merchants Rioba, Sandi and Alfani Mastelli who fled Venice around 1112. They traded in silk and spices. The fourth statue is perhaps one of their servants.

In this church are buried 25 Doge's (= heads of state of the Venetian Republic). You can also see paintings from Veronese, Tiepolo and Bellini here. Villa Orange:13. Santa Maria dei Miracoli is a small white church in a beautiful location (Campo dei Miracoli, Venezia). The walls are richly decorated with marble, inside and outside. The church was once built to accommodate a painting by Nicolò di Pietro (Madonna con Bambino - Maria with child). Miracles were attributed to this 15th century glory and hangs above the altar. There are also many pagan symbols in the church. The church is known as a wedding church; many foreigners get married here.

Villa Orange:14. The Ca' d'Oro, with its striking Gothic facade, is certainly one of the most beautiful palaces on the Grand Canal. This 15th-century palazzo houses an art collection. In addition to many religious paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries, you can also admire fragments of frescoes by Titian. The view from the balconies and the huge mosaic floor outside make it a special place to visit.

By the 18th century, the city became one of the most important centers for trading perfumes and pharmaceutical products, thanks to merchants importing spices and essential oils from the Orient. Spezieria all’Ercole d’Oro – established in 1650 – reached great success and popularity. The furniture and paneling are in walnut root wood, rich in details The walls feature four allegorical statues by Pietro Zandomeneghi, representing Botany, Medicine, Surgery and Physics. Over the years Spezieria hired skilled chemists and pharmacists.

The church was consecrated in 1705 and underwent a major restoration by the Austrian government between 1853 and 1862. The church is decorated with sumptuous Corinthian marble, an impressive organ, statues and frescoes. It gives a feeling of opulence and amazement to the visitor.
