Very entertaining and well worth going. Skip the audio guide and use the money saved to sit in the front row. They were happy for pictures to be taken but remember people behind you don't want to just see your screens the whole show! Good for all ages and languages, you may not fully understand what's happening but the humor translates well and it's very clever how the show is done. After the show pop to the cafe next door and try a Vietnamese Egg Latte.

Really neat traditional show located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The music and puppet show was really cool/traditional. There are translation devices available since the show is in Vietnamese but I didn’t feel the need to get one. The show was enjoyable without it. The show is about 45 minutes - 1 hour and tickets range from 100,000 dong - 200,000 dong (5-10 US dollars). Can purchase tickets directly at the theater so there is no need for a guide or anything like that. I felt that you could have sat anywhere in the theater and gotten the full effect so I didn’t see a need to shell out for the first 6 rows (these are the pricier ones).

Loved the performance so much. I sat in the far back of the theatre and was still able to enjoy the show. Every part is well-choreographed, funny, and exciting. Hands-down one of the most entertaining and fun things I've done in Hanoi. The fact that the show is narrated in all Vietnamese was actually okay for me. Most of the story is easy enough to understand by watching. The program will also give the name of the "acts" in the show, and the names will also help with understanding. An excellent show, please go and watch!

Good place to visit whilst in Hanoi. I went for a night showing at 8pm. The cost was reasonable and the show lasted 50 minuted. Accessible via walking to it and taxi. Streets are really busy so take care while crossing anywhere. The show itself consists of live performance puppetry and live singing and instrumentals. There is audio description for non-vietnamese speakers so don't worry about not understanding what's going on. Worth a visit.

Gives you some insight on Vietnamese culture. Was fascinated by how the puppets were so well controlled in the water. We didn’t purchase an audio guide although everything was in Vietnamese but still managed to get the gist of things through the puppetry. Would recommend!! Go early to get the best seats.
