I am very fond of museums, so every time I visit another city, I always go to the museum. This place is somewhat old, rusty, crude and hot (lots of sweat!), but if you take a breath, a relaxation and a time, it is good to visit museum. Many visitors complain about hot weather. Yes, It is hot in tropical city. We should understand its climate. If you cannot, you may go to the modern building, shopping center. Anyway, it was beautiful time for me in this museum. It may takes over two or three hours to enjoy entire exhibits. Please plan to compose your schedule, your energy, your mood. Remember, the trip is always yours, not others.

If you're really into history and artifacts you may enjoy this more. It's really cheap, 30k, for entry but not a lot in here. The building is beautiful and you can walk around most of it but the exhibits are sparse on information, especially in English, and I didn't really take much away that I hadn't already learnt at Independence Palace which every tourist is going to do anyway.

It’s nice but I don’t think it’s worth your while if you only have few days in Saigon. Give a brief story about the city, but nothing much. seems that the gallery director is uninspired.

If you want to know brief history of the city then this museum is right for you. However, for tourists, you must be careful when walking in front of the museum (outside the museum). There are some coconut sellers who pass you by and try to communicate with you in English. If you response, they will start talking more and give you some suggestions. Once you ask about their coconut, he will stop walking and cut the coconut for you without your permission. Later, he will charge you with VND 150.000 per coconut! I see him walking around the museum area and try to do the same trick to every tourist passing by.

super informative and the bilingual signs make sure non-native vietnamese speakers, as well as non-viet speakers can understand what is showcased. while not incredibly big, it does go through a lot of history and has interesting bits of info. the vehicles in front are also very cool to see, even disregarding the historical significance. the building itself is also very pretty; the architecture in general is beautiful to be honest.
