All new Halloween experience this year. An absolutely breath taking (and free!) light display projected on the house tells a great story. You have never seen anything like this. The acting is great this year as you are taken through vignettes across several different era's. I wont spoil the twist on last year's Candlelight Tour, but you will be treated to a great night!

Cool place to experience and learn the story. If you want to do both tours, get them back to back. Your tour guide can really make a difference in helping you create a spooky vibe or just another afternoon. Buy your tickets ahead of time online and spend some time at the nearby mall. Cool way to spend a weekend date walking around and then grabbing dinner.

Super cool place to check out. Saw both the day tour and the limited time Unhinged night experience. Both were lots of fun in their own way. Day tour was very informative and it was interesting to hear about the history of the house and it's occupants. Night tour was a fun haunted house with great actors and actresses.

I would have given 5 stars except for a couple things. The actors, costumes, etc. were top notch and the tour itself was plenty scary. However, the website gave zero information on what to expect. I get if they want to keep things a little vague, but something more would have been really helpful. We were expecting a nighttime walk through of the whole house to learn about it and instead it was simply a haunted house experience. It was fun and scary, but we were hugely disappointed to not hear the history of the house and not see more of it. If the website explained better, or at all, that Unhinged was not a historical tour, we most likely would have spent less and done the normal tour. We were sad to miss a lot of the extra activities, like the light show, because we went to an 11 pm tour. By the time our tour was done, everything was closing up or already closed up for the night. For the high price of the tickets, it’s pretty frustrating to not see a lot of it because everything closed before the tours were done. We would have gone earlier had we known we wouldn’t be able to see most of the attractions. We weren’t exactly pushed out after completing the actual tour, but it’s kind of hard to not feel unwelcome when the employees are milling around staring at you while they were packing everything up. All in all, we did have a good time and were happy to go through the house. And if you want a typical haunted house evening you will have a great time. However, if you are hoping for a historical tour and want to learn about the house, save your money and go to a regular tour during the day.

I finally got to visit the Winchester Mystery House! It was a bucket list location and did not disappoint. The best and most cost effective way to see it is to do the combo tour of the main house and the Explore More together. This beautiful and haphazardly built mansion with its garden is a great place to visit! Plan on spending a half day here. There is a gift shop and a cafe on site.
