The exhibit was fabulous! All the Dali work was incredible, including the movie. My boys enjoyed all of it, but the 7 year old lived the maze. The 9 year old said , " This was much more fun than I expected. " The staff was SO amazing! I cannot even begin to thank them for being so kid friendly and helpful! The staff really helped put this review at 5 stars!
My family had a great time here. The permanent collection is fantastic and tells Dali's story well. I loved how the works were oriented, so that you could connect one with the other. A beautiful building and arrangement. Make sure to download the Dali Museum app on your mobile device! The AR integration was a big hit with my kids and had them looking for hidden objects in all of the large works. The app tours are also good and I even used them after our visit, too! Great gift shop, too!
This is a really nice place for the whole family. The abstract, and off the wall paintings are amazing. I think it's a great idea for a afternoon trip. If you have time don't forget to go to the gift store, all the money goes back to the museum and locally. Do yourself a favor and give it a minute I promise you that it will be a little more than what you expected it to be. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I do and get the most out of the time you spend there.
A small museum, but it has a very diverse collection of Dali's work. When we went, the temporary collection was of the photography of Lee Miller. It was well curated, and the staff is very knowledgeable. The building itself is of an interesting architectural design. There is a small coffee cafe and a nice gift shop. I would recommend going, especially if you have any interest in Dali's works.
Salvador Dali Museum. Wow !!! Do not kid yourself for one second. This is a true world class museum filled to the bone of some of the best paintings in the world, thats right I said it. It is very easy to dismiss, not a well-known city for the Arts but it just so happens the family that actually owns the paintings are or were retired here in Saint Pete, and they made a deal with the city to build this museum. If you live here please don’t take it for granted go for free in the summer , they have that one free weekend for residents and bring the kids. Salvador Dali is perhaps one of the greats in the art world, a true Genius, in every respect. Personally I’m more of a Michelangelo/Rembrandt kind of guy but I do appreciate Salvador’s view of the world. I promise you one thing if any , go there with an open mind, grab a beer in the lobby get in a tour and they will describe the paintings as they go and YOU will be amazed. I will post one of my favorites. It takes up a whole wall in the museum and is truly a master piece. Go and have a good time we always do. Cheers
