This place is a must-visit when in Austin. ❤️ Its a lovely place to walk, stroll, bike and skateboard outside this magnificent architecture. Its very photo-worthy place. I appreciate the fact that there are lots of trees and benches around the area. This is a free tourist spot but is well-maintained. To appreciate more of this place, you wont get wrong to get inside. The interior is just “woah”. Simply beautiful. There are three entry points to get inside. Often than not, the center always has a long queue so I suggest to go at the other side entrance. Also, it is best to visit this place during weekdays. Weekends will do but expect a lot of people but still you’ll love this place. Parking is just everywhere around the area.

This place is well maintained. When in Austin, this is nice place for a walk, just few blocks away from all the good food places of Austin. The gift shop has plenty to offer. Staff are friendly. Best time to come is during after office less traffic. But if you want to see the inside of this place, be there during office hours.

Great place to go to. Building is amazing to look at and huge! You can go almost all the way to the top of the dome. There's also a basement area. Great time to go is during the Christmas holiday.

How proud we are to be Texans! Our State Capitol building and grounds are praise worthy. We had not planned to take a tour, because we had visited many times before, but we are so glad we did. We first visited informally with one guide, who is a retired history teacher, and, because of his encouragement, we decided to take the next tour available. Becky was our guide, and she was a wealth of knowledge. Instead of a 1/2 hour tour, she spent a whole hour with us. The visit to the Capitol and the tour were definite highlights of our short trip to Austin. We highly recommend enjoying one of the tours offered by the outstanding staff.

The Texas Capitol building is a beautiful, massive building with well-manicured grounds. There’s a lot to see as you walk around the property, and they offer free guided tours throughout the day. We stopped by on a Saturday morning and the tour group was packed and moved quickly. The tour guide was engaging and informative, but it was a little tough to hear her and the content was a little dry. That said, I’d still recommend checking it out to get context as you walk through the halls. The capitol has been rebuilt a few times due to fire so this isn’t the original structure. However the architecture and landscaping are great, the memorials are fascinating, and it is a truly massive property. Worth a visit if you’re in the city!
