THE GOOD: • The scenery is beautiful, Reelfoot Lake is a must-see place. Waterfront sites have a great view, especially at sunset. • The staff was super friendly and helpful • The variety of wildlife was really awesome, with all types of waterfowl and predatory birds to see • We didn’t set aside time to fish, but others were having success • If you have kids, Discovery Park of America is 30 minutes away, and you can dedicate a full day to that THE BAD: • Many of the campsites have a water drainage issue. A storm front came through while we were there, and several sites had real water problems. • BUGS! Luckily we were a little early for mosquitoes, but other water bugs covered our camper and everything outside. I had to go through the camper with a vacuum every night sucking them up. • Not a lot to do outside of fishing or birdwatching (or duck hunting during season). Hiking trails were pretty minimal, and not many other attractions around. This may be a positive or a negative, depending on your mindset. OVERALL: • We really enjoyed our visit, this is a great place for a low-key, relaxing getaway. • We will definitely be back, just a little more prepared for the bugs next time.

Very nice campground. Be careful of the trees lining the campsite access roads . Bathrooms are clean. The lake is very popular for fishing. Wife did not like the campground because there were too few places for her to walk. I thought is was a very pretty campground.

We love our state parks! It is hard to rank this park for a variety of reasons. The lake is beautiful, not to mention unusual. We came in January to see the eagles and we did! Saw a dozen or so on a fun park tour. It was cold so it was hard to get out and explore. Also, the visitor center and museum area were being remodeled and there is not much else to do in this very, very rural area. We stayed in one of the 7 cabins and they are very nice and well maintained. At least one of the cabins is handicapped accessible.

Had a great time , nice campgrounds. Stayed at the South Campground . Great place to launch my Kayak. The showers and restrooms were Hospital Clean!! Plenty of hot water ! Woke up to a dead battery . Charles the maintenance man came by and had me running in no time ! SUPER GUY !! Extremely nice , said they like to take care of their campers !! Wouldn't take any money ! I can't thank him enough ! But hey ! All the employees treated me great and were very friendly !! Looking forward to returning soon ! Clean campgrounds !!
