The Nakalele blow hole is absolutely a must see for all tourists. It is totally free and a very light trek down a hill to see the water. There are signs throughout expressing that you remain safe. I would suggest listening to the signs to be safe, but there were several people getting fairly close without any repercussions. I would not roll the dice. You can get plenty close, while remaining on dry rocks. A side stop fairly near to the blow hole was the heart shaped rock that makes for beautiful pics. The heart shaped rock is a hole in a rock that is shaped similar to a heart. There is a cart at the top of the hill, near the start point that offers banana bread, leis, coconut water and watermelon for sale. I only priced the coconuts which were $10 for a whole coconut. After you're done drinking the water, the vendor would cut the coconut in half so you could eat the meat. Great excursion and the cheapest thing to do in Maui so far. The trip is somewhat daunting as there is a 5 mile stretch of a very windy, narrow two lane road leading out to the site.

Very beautiful! The hike was relatively easy. It’s a bit rocky. I’d recommend wearing shoes. I talked to a couple of people who didn’t hike down to the blowhole because they were not comfortable with the idea of hiking in flip flops. It’s nice to see crabs and fish in the rock crevices.

Great experience. Wear comfy shoes to hike down. I wouldn’t recommend sandals as I had them on and it was tricky even trying to go a quarter of the way down. Drive there was a little narrow and winding so be careful as there were bikers.

Super fun! If you’re looking for a fun steep hike that is the place to go it’s so cute. We went before the “original” path from a light house and it was beautiful no people and was not crowded. A cute place for photos and to see how beautiful it is

Pretty cool place! The blowhole was impressive, and the heart shaped rock was pretty neat. Pretty steep hike down, but we made it fine with 3 kids under 5 years old.
