A beautiful place in South Boulder for half a day hiking. The difficulty level is moderate considering the steepness while climbing up. The view from the top is amazing and worth every drop of sweat. The path down is so scenic and easier. If traveling during Feb, having crampons is a must cause of patches of ice and snow. Summer hikes are recommended for early risers because of lack of shaded areas during descending.

It was about a 2 3 hr hike but I took my time as it was my first time so I wanted to enjoy all the views mount sanitas had to offer .. went on a Monday wasn't too crowded at all some people but still plenty of space. Trail was fair to say the least as I'm an experienced hiker definitely a nice incline that's for sure. Sights were beautiful heading to the top and once you get there... its scenic.. definitely worth the hike will do it again soon.

Well-managed trail with two loop options that are fun either direction you take. There is a bouldering area along the trail that’s easy to get to. Some good spots with views and little to no ice spring to fall.

This New Jersey-visiting guy took this hike unprepared for how the altitude change can affect you. My family and I got here yesterday thinking altitude-schmaltitude until taking this hike. While our Boulder friends warned us about this, I observed locals running up and down this trail with their dogs and thought this shouldn't be so bad, right? Boy was I wrong. The hike is designed well: switchbacks, steps, sign posts at forks, clear trails and oh my, what beautiful views. Pine trees are everywhere, prickly-pear cacti snuggle the rocky sides of the trail and the Rocky Mountains make this a wonderful hike to stop, drink some water, inhale the fresh air, take a photo and reflect. I give this trail four stars because it can seem treacherous and there are no markers to educate you about what you are seeing in the views and vista's. I've been on those trails and have enjoyed them more.

Great views but a steeper climb than I was expecting. We did catch the sunset on the way down which was worth it!
