Spectacular National Monument. The trail to the base of the mountain is a workout, but the path is easily navigable with finished surfaces. The views along the way are fantastic. Parts were under construction during our visit but that didn't detract from the grandeur. The gift shop was well stocked with every kind of trinket and souvenir you can think of. As expected they were expensive. Overall, loved the visit. Highly recommend going this time of year. Low numbers of people, no lines!

WOW!! This was an incredible experience. Even with current construction, this is 5 stars all day. I cannot tell you how many cool things there are to do and see here. I was just expecting a quick 10 minute trip, take some pictures and be done. NOPE! There is a whole trail to experience. An audio tour, the Studio where they tell you all about the mountains history.. Just so many cool things. The food court is top notch. Extremely clean and modern. So many different types of foods, there is something for everyone. You have to try the vanilla ice cream!!! Overall this is an incredible family experience. I'm do glad we decided to come to Mount Rushmore.

Cool monument but for the long drive. We are from CA - bay area. We drove from Denver, Colorado just for this. It would have been a better idea to club this with other nearby parks. But we chose to do this alone. Not many services along the route except a few small towns that were of great help,for us to grab some snacks, fill in gas and refresh in restrooms. We made it to the park around 4 45. Just about when the sculptors studio and visitor center were about to close and waited to get a glimpse of night lighting as well! There is a short trail with about 250 stairs that takes you to another spot close up. The food court and gift shop were too good! Not sure if I would want to visit again though. But for a one time visit, it's a nice place.

A must-see for all American’s and international visitors. I finally had the opportunity to visit Mount Rushmore after over five decades as an American, and I’m glad for the experience. The monument itself is stunning, interesting, and relaxing, all at once. The facilities (parking, restrooms, vending, trails, exhibits, etc.) are all top-notch and improving. I was impressed with the parking facilities: capable, close to the exhibits, appropriately priced. We dodged some new construction on our visit, but the work didn’t affect our visit. TIP: if you’re up to hiking, walk all the trails for various views/pictures of the moments. I’m a hiker and walked the trails/steps on a post-op knee (with hiking poles): the trail is mildly strenuous and well maintained, no problems. I noticed some ranger talks around the area, so if you’re interested, check the Ranger Desk. The scenery near the monument are beautiful mountain/forest. We spotted interesting accommodation and attraction stops in the area near the monument. The road systems around the area are great. Overall, I highly recommend Mount Rushmore.

Iconic in size and concept. A true marvel in tribute to the arts, engineering, and a select few men who dedicated their lives in helping make a great nation. Humanity has its problems, but once in a while we get something right. I wish to thank all those who contributed to and still labor to preserve this unique monument for us.
