So much to say. I won't completely bore you with the details, let's just say it's an experience. Every block is lined with smells, sights, tastes, and street peddlers trying to get you to buy this or that. Take it all in like being at a carnival, or county Fair and it all becomes super enjoyable. The building's themselves are characters in and of themselves and the sights are truly marvelous at times. Have fun and be safe out there.

Surrounded by Hollywood stars. Great overlooking with magical signatures. This place was amazing and lots to see. I love the shops for souvenirs and has a lot of restaurants. Prices were good. This absolutely the best place to go in LA.

The most iconic places in LA which you can't miss. We took a long walk down and saw a lot of unfamiliar names- never heard of some and a handful of familiar celebrities. The sidewalk are dirty and even some nooks and corners. We had lunch at one of the restaurants there, it was not an upscale restaurant but not a bad one either. The restrooms were filthy, which is a norn in LA I assume. We took a tour for the Hollywood hills- the driver was hilarious with a sense of humor.

It's really not worth it. Some spots you might not be able to read because or trash and/or cracked sidewalk and streets. Go to the most touristy spots and you'll just find people trying to screw over whoever doesn't know any better (and whoever looks like a tourist, especially). Don't travel alone or at night (or alone AND at night). Crime, theft, etc. isn't uncommon. If you're gonna park somewhere, make sure it's in a parking lot structure and around a lot of people (not secluded in any way). Things lose their appeal real quick. Plus you're not very likely to even recognize many of the names on the Stars. You should have the Stars you want to see in mind & find out where they are before coming by. Again, it loses a lot of it's appeal and "Oh my god look it's HOLLYWOOD from the big screens" feel once (if) you realize how dirty things are.

I live in LA / Hollywood and it makes me sad to walk down Hollywood Blvd. I feel bad for the tourists that come here expecting something safe and clean. The homeless crisis is very apparent along the street. It is not family friendly. The costume characters and peddlers are invasive to your public space. It smells of pee and human feces. It is even worse during the summer. Hollywood Blvd at Highland is often closed for events and needs to be closed permanently and turned into a walking street. Traffic is bad enough without needing to reroute it every other week. If you're looking for family friendly sight seeing, go to 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, go to Downtown... just don't go to Hollywood Blvd... or take a tour bus because they are also scamming you.
