Nice quick stop for some history of Mendocino and local artists.
I go to Mendocino about twice/week and had never been in until a few days ago. I was very pleasantly surprised. I liked the museum exhibits, loved the gift shop, found the brochure wall helpful and enjoyed a brief interaction with a knowledgeable man who worked there. Then I sat outside in the sun to wait for my friend and reveled in the garden plants. Worth the time to visit!
Small but the docent more than made up for it. Learned a lot about Mendocino.
Very informative and well preserved house. The volunteer staff are very friendly and know the history of Mendocino very well, we learned a lot from them. They also give you a walking tour of the headlands every Saturday at 1pm as they explain local wildlife. The entire town is dog friendly.
Very small but cozy museum/visitor center. They have plenty of leaflets and information about everything in Mendocino and surrounding areas. But the most important thing, the staff is very nice, kind and friendly and will help you in absolutely everything with a smile.
