I really like the Engineer. It's a lovely old-fashioned pub which usually has two or three beers on draft and does nice cocktails too. It always has a good atmosphere when I go in. Sadly, the food is just not up to scratch. The last few visits have been very disappointing and after the most recent one (horrifically chewy overcooked chicken and salad which should have been in the bin) I won't be attempting to eat there again. Please sort it out! You are so good in other ways.

We visited yesterday after a long walk to Primrose Hill. The patio/garden on the back of the pub is a very well hidden treasure. Definitely a huge plus and so precious in these days where everything is turning to ugly tiny flats. We had two starters. The first was bread with oil and butter and the second was prawns and chorizo on a toast. Both were delicious and amazing. The French rose wine we ordered was excellent and a good combination for the food. For the main course we had the burger and the pie. Both were tasty and fresh. The other customers were very nice and the whole atmosphere was extremely pleasant. I highly recommend this place for drinks but also for food and a relaxed evening.

Great food and the chef came out to check everything was ok and explained the menu. Afters limited which was a shame. Great pub and staff very pleasant

Had lunch here with friends today (August Bank Holiday Saturday). Lovely, calm, elegant gastro pub, a million miles away (okay - about 0.5 km away!) from the hustle & bustle of Camden Lock. Lovely rear garden but we preferred the dark wood interior on what was a really hot day. Dining over two levels - the two rooms upstairs can each be hired for private functions. We were seated at a nice downstairs window table. Food was really good. I had the squid starter and cod main - both full of amazing flavours. Everyone in our group loved the food and service! Shoutout to our server with the very cool tattoos - apologies for not asking her name! She was attentive, really friendly and had a great grasp of British humour (despite English not being her first language)! A credit to the team! Highly recommended place!

Very popular, Very lively place. Staff are very polite and helpful. Good was tasty and well presented. Bit on the expensive side but that's Camden. Yes, I will go there again.
