Chesterfield Walk, London SE10 8QX, UK
A gem of a place (literally). A lovely collection of masterpieces. Even the children were inspired to read and find out more about ancient vases and clocks!
Really enjoyed visiting Rangers House. Its very different from most English heritage properties. The focus of this place is on one man's art collection. Well worth a visit
An incredible find and one that not many people seem to be aware of. Situated on the edge of Greenwich Park it is the home for Werhners collection of ceramics, jewellery and paintings. Having made a fortune in the South African diamond and gold industry and become one of the wealthiest men in GB he used part of his fortune in collecting some of the most impressive pieces of art. Looking at the jewelry under a magnifying glass (supplied) brought out the most incredible details. Our 2 day trip to London was worth it for Rangers House alone, sadly we had booked time slots in other attractions, otherwise we could have spent more time here You could combine a visit to Rangers House with a visit to other nearby attractions. Both the Cutty Dark, Greenwich Maritime Museum and the Docklands Railway are only a pleasant 20 minutes walk away through the park and the Royal Observatory even closer. Splendid views over London as you return to the river. The Rangers House closes at the end of October, but reopens again in March
So surprised by this treasure! Had been to Greenwich a few times and didn’t know this was there. Lovely building and the collection of art inside was absolutely beautiful! We only allowed about an hour which wasn’t anywhere near enough time for us - so will definitely be back!
Nice place, interesting beautiful items. Very difficult to find it. Please use a car.
