A huge open meadow space lined by a river, the river has shallow banks and make for a nice spot to dip your free or soak the children. A beautiful walk with swans and cows roaming about. Lots of history which is explained on a few boards dotting the site.
Beautiful as ever. Busy on hot days esp during holidays as you'd expect but never overcrowded there's so much space you can always find somewhere to sit/swim/snooze. A wonderful place for a crisp morning swim or an idyllic afternoons by the river. Parking can be tricky esp on Binsey Lane (free) but there is a paid public car park on the south end as an alternative.
Oh we all love Port Meadow. Beautiful big open space, amazing skies, ancient grazing land. Had a lovely swim in the river.
Perfect for a walk any time of the year, though in the summer buttercups and daisies spring up and it is simply beautiful. Also lovely for a swim or even just dipping your toes in the water. My one word of warning is parking, which can get pretty busy past 11 for the rest of the day when the weather's nice.
Absolutely gorgeous meadow with a lovely wild swimming spot. Very popular and the car park was full! Cows in the field but on other side of field so dogs were fine off lead. Loads of people on the river and on the banks with gazebos and bbqs.
