We had a lot of fantastic food while visiting Edinburgh; however, this tops them all. Everyone at the table ordered something different and they were all delicious! The staff was very friendly and the gentleman that delivered the food was quite comical. Overall, this is the happiest I’ve been with a restaurant in quite a while. If you’re able to, I would recommend booking a reservation because it got pretty busy towards the end of our meal on a weekday. I can only imagine how packed this place is on weekends!

Super yummy and affordable restaurant. There is something for everyone here. This restaurant takes a gourmet spin on traditional Scottish cuisine, providing the comfort food you want with a bit a flair! Their portions are big, so you won't go home hungry either! I love that this is an independent eatery. Support Small Businesses!

Good hearty food. Selection of different types of mash to go with your main which may include wild board sausages, whiskey chicken or other meaty meats! Reasonable selection of beers and wines at the casual restaurant. Our waiter was great, but there were other less attentive staff members around so we were lucky. Would return to try their other meals including hash stacks and scotch eggs.

Really hearty tasty food, good portion sizes and pleasant inside. Pricing was fair and it felt like they have made a choice to do a certain type of food and well, a welcome change to the restaurant with a 12 page menu that does a bit of everything! The decor and brand does feel quite relaxed and the mains are around £15 so might feel odd to some but see past that, give it a go and you'll love it too!

As someone from the Caribbean I've grown up with flavorful, well seasoned food. I've heard a lot of jokes about food in the UK but this was really really delicious. Added to that friendly service, filling portions, great location, reasonable priced. A gem indeed.
