Absolutely love this place. Lots taking place there. Really good place for my grandsons. They have crazy golf which they love and a huge adventure playground fir them. The castle and grounds are spectacular. Warm friendly staff. Lots of atmosphere

What a magical place! The main entrance was covered due to being on restoration but there was still so much beauty and history in every room and gardens! A wonderful experience.

Spent Easter Monday here. The grounds were lovely. The castle impressive. The staff friendly and courteous. I was however incensed by the pricing at the many various food vendors around the grounds. £1.90 for a can of drink is ridiculous and I bought just two of my four children an ice lolly each at a cost of £5.40 which is frankly disgusting! Especially when you consider the not very modest entrance fees. A foreign tourist balked at the price of ice creams and took her small child away with nothing. Additionally, the fact that the train ride back to the entrance was £1 per adult and 50p per child (cash only) was an insult. The children were tired and hot and had walked a lot. Much as the surroundings were beautiful and very enjoyable I felt cheated at the cost of everything else. We do at least get a years free entry with our visit and so that takes the edge off but please, please rethink the awful price ups you have put on refreshments. Its exploitative.

Very historic castle excellently preserved. Helpful guides. It also has lifts on some staircases for the mobility imparted. There are both cafes and restaurants here. Food is good and reasonably priced. Lots to see and a nice lake with wild birds and Black Swans. A good day out with a vast parkland and even a maze.

Lovely castle and grounds. Bit pricey if you can only visit the once,as ticket lasts for a year. Nice to go to the events they hold.
