It’s cheap and friendly and as clean as can be managed. Beds aren’t great, the house is damp, a shortage of bath/toilet capacity. It’s still worth considering if you’re on a budget, but I’d suggest bringing a sleeping bag liner which is a light item that adds assurance of hygiene whenever you are backpacking and staying in hostels in different countries.
Friendly, super helpful staff. Great location near the end of the Great Glen Way. Wonderful homemade scones for breakfast!
Not the best, but also not the worst hostel I’ve seen in the UK. When arriving in the Student Hostel in Inverness what I noticed immediately was everybody only paying attention to their phones. It kind of killed all the vibe a hostel can have and it made me feel a bit lonely. I was mostly happy I got a bed on the lower bunk, and that the staff was friendly and helpful as I got in late. But for breakfast I recommend just skipping into town, there are plenty of places that will serve you a much better cup of coffee.
The room has an odd arrangement that was not nice when you shared it with 4 other people who like came back really late, talked and laughed very noisily in the hallway and continues to the room without caring that the other roommate are asleep already. With 1 plug center in the room near the bed of one of these peoples, they left a dirty socks on top of my camera charger. Disgusting! Probably not being taught well by their parents. Very nice staff though and through tho.
Friendly staff, cosy rooms and reasonably priced. The rooms get a bit hot though
Sharing is caring!
