Most of the information displayed was already known to me but I did appreciate the knowledge regarding Liverpool's connection to the Slave Trade. The two stars is mostly due to the attached picture. Now I'm not sure if these notes were collected by the staff and then displayed or if it was displayed by the attendees without the staff's knowledge. Either way, it is completely tone deaf, insulting, and disrespectful. This note was shown with many others by the entrance and I almost walked out. It clearly states that the museum's purpose is to educate those on the millions of AFRICANS who were forced into the slavery. I can't really say I'm surprised as some groups of people want to be oppressed so bad. "We were slaves too!! You guys weren't the only ones!!!" That is exactly what this message was trying to portray. Ignorance will never go away. And for the person who wrote this note, Slavery is not the same an Indentured Servitude, moron.

Came away not learning anything more than i already knew. A very airy fairy take on slavery, some pointless and misleading information displayed and I did not see the link between Liverpool and the slave trade . The layout was poor and would have been more useful if the museum provided a booklet with the timeline and explanation of each section of the museum. I think this museum needs the input from Black African historians and proper guided tours for visitors to really grasp the enormity of the Evil Atrocities that Europeans have perpetrated against Africans and how this continues to have an impact. Now i know why its free.

Very educational museum that incorporated many aspects. I will say I was expecting a hole museum devoted to this but in reality it’s only one floor of the museum.

Full of history. I would allot for about 3 hours to fully explore to pace yourself to read and take in everything. Maybe bring water and a small snack to pause after each section which there are 3.
