Castle Hill Rd, Hastings TN34 3JL, UK
Beautiful view of the coast. Expensive entry fee!
Lovely hill-top ruins with enlightening information boards about each section. The view from the Castle alone made the trek well-worth it, but do bring water (especially on a hot day) as there isn’t anywhere to buy some. There was also a nice informative film in a slightly run-down looking building, though it did give a good background of how the site and castle played an important role in English History from 1066. The entry fee was a little steep but I do recommend it for history lovers and avid walkers!
Probably the most famous landmark in Hastings. Well worth a visit but choose a nice sunny day for best effect. Great views over surrounding countryside and the town. Entry price is currently £5.25 for adults, (£4.25 kids, £4.65 students and OAPs, or £17 family of 4 £21 family of 5), which is not bad considering the high cost of maintaining and preserving the castle ruins.
Lived there lomg ago.
Overpriced and underwhelming; this should be free or voluntary donations at best.
