Very pleasant venue to relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Nice light menu choices if you're feeling a more peckish too.

Beautiful walled gardens and park. To get there, you have to thread your way carefully through tiny Kentish lanes and glorious villages. Great day out!

Unfortunately house and gift shop closed for a function but rest of the gardens full of flowers. Pleasant staff but a little limited on parking.

Goodnestone Park gardens on August 29th in a heat wave was beautiful. The gardens in perfect condition. The yew trees perfectly trimmed. The three long walled gardens a delight including fabulous dahlias in all their forms interspersed with runner bean and courgette. All pristine but natural! The setting is glorious and the landscape around idyllic. Peaceful and gentle and non commercialised plenty places to run around in with the arboretum and woods. Car park is small and tight by the Dairy Cafe which is new, spacious and served excellent fresh food mostly local and cooked on site. My mother said that the gardens and house were quite neglected when she went in early 2000. But all are now perfect and kept by volunteers there is no shop apart from a little table of woodwork and cards so no retail catch. Plus you can go to the lovely cafe without going into the gardens if you want to meet up with friends or family. I will purchase a season ticket! Very reasonable price even for those of us on pension credit! My 91 year old mother walked it so it's very accessible too. A really lovely day visit.
