Went here for a birthday meal with friends and it was terrific. Freshest food I've tasted for a very long time. Enjoyed a cocktail, bottle of wine and 4 course set menu for £50 a head. Definitely a fantastic place to go for a special occasion. Local fresh produce, excellent menu, delightful staff, great wine list, stylish surroundings...couldn't fault. Will go back and try the set menu lunch at a reasonable £18. Can't wait!

Had the 3 course Sunday lunch yesterday which was excellent. Service was friendly too and the atmosphere relaxed. Would definitely recommend The Borough to friends and family, like he said "I'll be back!"

Seriously accomplished bistro cookery, and a superb value 3 course set lunch at £18.50 (n.b. currently Fri - Sun only), served in a stylish but comfortable neighbourhood setting, with a welcoming, informative front of house and major talent in the kitchen. Who knew a roast carrot could be so delicious? The hake main was stunning - and I have huge respect for a restaurant that finishes a dish with house-prepared dehydrated mussel powder (!) but doesn't feel the need to boast about such ingredients on the menu. A lengthy, thoughtfully-constructed wine and drinks list rounds it out. A much-needed, approachable and affordable alternative to the Shore's Michelin-starred offerings. Worth seeking out, without question.
