I recently spent a whole month in the Hawaiian Islands, and I definitely think it was one of the best experience of my life. Sun all year round, crystal clear water, tropical fishes, coconut trees… What a dream! Now, it's my turn to give you some tips to make your trip unforgettable! :)

You can’t get bored in Hawaii. The sun is (almost) always shining, which allows you to do a lot of outdoor stuffs!

Marion:(Kauai Island) Take a boat and discover one of the most amazing landscape of Hawaii. These impressive cliffs were used as a set for several movies such as Jurassic Park or King Kong. Unforgettable!

Marion:(Big Island) I did not have the chance to see melted lava when I went over there, but it did not stop me from doing great hikes and seeing beautiful viewpoints. My advice: do not take a lava stone back home with you, or you will provoke the anger of Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess!

Marion:(Oahu Island) Do not forget your water bottle, your hat, some sun cream… And be prepared to climb! Don’t worry, your efforts will be rewarded. On at the top, you will have an amazing panoramic view on Waikiki and Honolulu.

Marion:(Maui Island) You can access the summit of the volcano driving with your car. I went over there one evening, to watch the sunset. There were a lot of people, but the view still is a magic memory for me!

Marion:(Maui Island) During the summer, it is a wonderful snorkeling place, even for beginners! You can access the bay through a rocky beach. Then, put your flippers and your mask, and enjoy the swim! You can see turtles, tropical fishes, eels :)

Marion:(Oahu Island) You definitely can’t go to Hawaii without going to Pearl Harbour. It is a duty of remembrance. Plan your visit in advance, and then take your time to go to the different memorials and museums. Difficult time, but necessary one.

Marion:(Lanai Island) If you plan to visit Lanai properly, you should rent a Jeep. It is the only way to drive through the steep paths of the island. Also, you will have the chance to see the Garden of the Gods, a beautiful red-rock landscape which is a 45-minute four-wheel drive from Lanai City.

Marion:(Maui Island) A short trail will take you to an impressive blowhole, where a powerful explosion of seawater erupts every few minutes. As you may know, Maui is a dormant volcano. In fact, here, seawater is trapped in an underwater lava tube. When it finds a way to escape, it creates an explosion.

Marion:(Oahu Island) Spending a whole morning surfing in Waikiki was one of my funniest memory. This neighborhood of Honolulu also is the best place to do some shopping, whether you want to buy expensive clothes or bring back cheap souvenirs from Hawaii.

Marion:(Maui Island) The Hana Highway is a 64.4-mile-long scenic route in Maui. It connects Kahului to the town of Hana. Plan a whole day to quietly do the round trip, and have enough time to dive into some waterfalls and take pictures.

Marion:(Big Island) The southernmost point in the US! Here, the wind is blowing hard, so be ready to have some sand in your hair and your eyes. If you’re crazy, you can also do some cliff jumping. Sorry, I didn’t’ try!

Marion:(Maui Island) It is a beautiful beach on the north shore, where you can choose between surfing, sunbathing on the sand and… taking pictures with turtles! I never saw so many of these animals resting in the sand! If you’re in the water, they often swim so close that they sometimes touch you!

Marion:(Kauai Island) This place is also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. You can easily drive through this State Park with your car, and stop when you want to hike or take pictures. Be careful, the more you go up, the more you enter into the wettest part of the island, so it’s often raining!

Marion:(Big Island) This dormant volcano is the highest point of the Hawaiian Islands. It is also viewed as a really important mountain in the Polynesian culture. Mauna Kea also is a world class site for astronomy, and there are several observatories at the top.

Marion:(Lanai Island) One of the most beautiful beach of the archipelago. You can access it with a regular car. Its golden sand is the perfect place to sunbathe, but you can also choose to play in the small turquoise waves. If you are lucky, you can even see dolphins!

Marion:(Oahu Island) Oahu’s north shore is a world class surf spot during the winter, and its Banzai Pipeline is very famous. However, during the summer, you can safely swim along the beautiful golden beaches. The town of Haleiwa is a cute little town to do some shopping.

Marion:(Maui Island) Drive a little bit after Hana, and do this hike along the Pipiwai Trail. You will also have the chance to see several waterfalls. It is really beautiful!

Marion:(Big Island) It is the most touristic city on Big Island. You will find a lot of stuff to see. It is also the place where I booked a night dive with manta rays. It was a really fantastic experience, unforgettable!

Marion:(Maui Island) This place is located on the north shore of Maui. After a few miles driving or walking on a steep path, you arrive to a beautiful viewpoint. From here, you can see Jaws: in the winter it is the home of a huge wave known worldwide. You can hear the sound of its breaking from miles around.
