The foodie guide to Plovdiv

galina:The lunch menu is one of my favourite in the city. However, salads from the lunch menu are quite small, but everything is always delicious. They offer craft beer as well and it is very good too.

galina:Vegans rejoyce! Veggic is located in Kapana and offers a different daily menus so be sure to check it out on Facebook. They also have very good bread and sweets selection.

galina:Although they have great cocktails, I generally prefer to sit here for coffee in the afternoon. Plus they serve one of the best lemonades in town.

galina:This has to be my favourite restaurant in Plovdiv for any time and any occasion. I love the modern take on the dishes and the fact that the menu changes according to the season.

galina:Very modern and industrial style place. The translation of Smokini is figs so don't be surprised if they appear in most dishes. Smokini salad is all time favourite of mine.

galina:This is the French gem in Plovdiv. Very nice atmosphere and delicious food. Try the duck and the french onion soup. They also have lunch menu which I would also recommend.

galina:This is one of the classics. Located in the city centre near City Hall. If you want to have something more fancy like octopus carpaccio this is the place. Also, don't miss the souffle.

galina:Here you can have more typical food such as kachamak with pastarma, traditional cooked lamb and traditional meatballs to name a few. The sandwich with pulled pork is a must!

galina:Savini's french milk chocolate is my absolute favourite ice-cream at the moment. They also have a keto hazelnut flavour as well as several vegan ones. The ice-cream cones are gluten free and you can also request home made ones.

galina:If you are looking for out of the ordinary flavours that you never thought you could eat as an ice cream - this is the right place. For those of you that like sweet and sour combinations they serve different cheese flavours with: gorgonzola, blue cheese, brie, goat cheese and ricotta.

galina:Probably one of the best dessert places in Plovdiv. Tams House offers modern interpretations of classical desserts and also their own. Try the egg and you won't be disappointed.

galina:Based in the lively Kapana district this is one of my favourite spots for after work drinks this summer. As a gin lover I would recommend trying the French 75 cocktail. Every Thursday the host swing dance parties.

galina:This is my other favourite place for drinks this summer. It has the typical for Kapana lively atmosphere, plus the cocktails are really nice. I always end up having the gin and tonic ones, but the bloody marry is also good. If you visit in the early hours - they have really nice coffee.

galina:Cool and hip place if you want to try something outside of Kapana and maybe even a bit more relaxed. They make their own special sangria, which I highly recommend. The bloody marry is also great.

galina:Inside of an old building just across the central post in Plovdiv. Another cool and hip place - I would say the atmosphere and vibe reminds me a bit of Fargo. Nice cocktails and great music.Look for their events on Facebook.

galina:The building in which the Bulgarian beer Kamenitza was produces up until few years ago is now turned into a modern brewery offering a variety of craft beers - some flavours exclusive for the restaurant. Try the tasting menu of 4 different beers. They also offer good food and lunch menu.
