Fantastic Burmese restaurant serving authentic tea leaf salad, tamarind leaf salad, and pennywort salad just like we had in Burma. Update : Nov 2019 : Still the best tea leaf and tamarind leaf salad in town! Maybe in all of Thailand!

I’ve had Burmese food many times and I heard this restaurant is good so I gave it try. I asked them some dishes but they said they kept saying they don’t have it.. so we ordered their recommendations. They tasted very ordinary.. not outstanding at all. It has nothing to do with the rate I gave here but the staff acted so weird.. said something that doesn’t make sense and kept doing that to us. So weird

I was staying in an Airbnb very close by and it's a shame that I only discovered this place just before going to the airport. The food tasted excellent. Portions are a little on the small side, which is offset by being as cheap as you'd expect so order a few different things! Do recommend

Fresh and tasty Burmese food, delicious! This is a very simple-looking and not too well-lit place. I only found it because it came recommended by a good friend who provided precise instructions: to avoid ending up at one of the neighbouring places which all look a bit similar and blended together. Main thing is to look for the "Burmese Restaurant" sign on top of the building, and of course the Burmese menu (they also have a Thai menu). Their dishes are simple and inexpensive but very well prepared and tasty (we only tried dishes from their Burmese menu). None of the dishes we had were spicy in any way, however you can add your own spice if you want to (just like in Myanmar, where I found that most curries had no chillies added unless requested). The tomato salad comes highly recommended as does the bean soup - a simple-looking soup but such an amazing flavour! Other dishes we had include the rice with tomatoes and fish, and the fried catfish. After polishing off the first order, we ordered another round of most of the dishes we had, it was that good! Some reviewers complain that the food is not piping hot. However that would be very hard to do, as the inexpensive dishes come in small bowls and plates. If you want it piping hot suggest you take it away and stick it in the microwave at home or your hotel - there's just no other way with this kind of dishes. For everyone else, this is a great place to eat delicious inexpensive food, the same way you get it in the market in Mawlamyine and other such locations. I will be coming back here many times!

Really nice Burmese food, small portions for low money, so you can order and try a lot of different dishes. Perfect!
