The 180 baht grilled fish was very good with nice dipping sauce. The meat was succulent and not strong tasting for a river fish. It paired nicely with papaya salad (50 baht), steamed rice and spicy pork soup (60 baht). People have made reviews saying that the restaurant is dirty. I completely disagree. It had a local restaurant feel and atmosphere.
We went here after being advised by lonely planet and staying at Awana House (1 min walk away). The food was excellent and some of the best we had in Thailand. Very modest set-up, reasonably priced and good selection of food. We ate the fish (must have), fermented pork (only 1 piece as the host thought we may find it too strong - it was actually delicious), rice, vegetables, papaya salad.
Absolutely incredible! I had the Spicy Chicken Soup with Lemon Grass (Tom Yum Gai) and it was superb. We finished with the Mango Sticky Rice and oh my Lord was it delicious! Highly highly recommend. Unfortunately no vegetarian options but if you're not vegan/vegetarian this is your spot!
We were on our way to try Cooking Love but spotted this gem and changed our minds. The BEST decision! We had the grilled fish, garlic beef, pork curry and pork scratchings. Everything was outstanding and such good value (420 baht total including 2 beers and 2 portions of rice). Highly recommend!
Great food. The BBQ butter prawns and fish are super fresh and cooked well.
